Obliterate Cancer

Soon, on August 10, I am riding in a bike race in Seattle, WA to accelerate the pace of lifesaving, breakthrough cancer research happening at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. My goal is to raise $10,000! I know you can help me get there!

As many of you know my father, Digger, is a two time cancer survivor and former patient of the Hutch. And my dear friend, Cindy is a recent survivor, and former patient of the Hutch. Our fight is for those who survive AND for those who lose their battles! Every day there’s a story of a loved one, or someone you know, battling cancer! Recently a Moyer Foundation board member, Herb, lost his battle to cancer. You all know the story of Erin (Camp Erin) losing her battle to cancer at 17, many years ago! My BFF, Brad lost his Dad to cancer! I lost my best friend, Jack, to cancer 18 months ago… AND my dearest friend, Jessica, lost her husband to cancer a year ago.  I am riding this race to support her, honor her husband’s memory and support the amazing work and research at the Hutch.

Having served on the board at the Hutch for more than a decade, and recognizing the Moyer Foundation’s huge support through The Gregory Fund initiative (another living surviving Hutch patient) for early detection at the Hutch, I know firsthand the amazing work being done at the Hutch! 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the cancer research at the Hutch! Imagine the impact we can have on research with your generosity! We will save more lives, and even faster!!

Donating is easy. GO to my personal fundraising page at http://getinvolved.fhcrc.org/goto/karenmoyer OR call 206.667.RIDE (7433) OR send a check by mail (address below).  If you do it by phone or mail be sure to let them know it’s for me so I can get to my goal 🙂

You can learn more about Obliteride at www.obliteride.org and about the Hutch’s ingenious research at www.FredHutch.org.

I will be working hard to be in shape for this in a few weeks. I will be riding side by side with my dear friend Jessica. We are creating a silver lining in a very difficult time! BUT we can make a difference! Please know how VERY grateful I am for your support!

Last year, Obliteride raised $1.9 million which went directly to the Hutch!  I hope you’ll donate as much as you can because you believe in me and what I am doing… and that together we can obliterate cancer.

HUGE Hugs and kisses,
