Have you seen the movie Happy Gilmore? Remember when Adam Sandler was trying to picture himself in that “happy place” so that he could perform on the golf course? This is one of the characteristics of the Laws of Attraction. He was placing postive thoughts in his conscious mind so that he could succeed. Let’s see how this affects our daily life. (We already know how it affects our husband’s athletic career.)
Are you a person who has tried every fad diet that is on the market and still cannot lose weight? Have these words ever come out of your mouth or are they permeating your mind? “I cannot lose weight” or “I’m fat”. I want to hurry up and inform you that the words you think and speak are very powerful, much more than you would ever imagine. Do you realize that your negative energy turns into reality if you saturate your mind with it?
Lets do a ‘Pinocchio’ experiment and pretend every time you say something negative, it becomes reality and then it drastically increases. For example, if you look yourself in the mirror and say, “I’m fat”, you gain an extra couple pounds immediately. This would be a terrible disaster and I fear that many of you reading this right now would be in trouble. So, we are going to create a bond and combat those thoughts and expressions. Here is the next part of the experiment. Let’s shut our mouths AND mind everytime you want to say something negative about yourself. After you turn the switch off, tell yourself two positive affirmations aloud, preferably in the mirror. I know this might get a little silly but trust me, confidence is sexy!! Do this at every instance a negative thought goes into your mind or tries to pry its way out of your mouth. If it’s about losing weight, some examples might be, “I’m feeling stronger and sexier every day”, or “You are a strong man/woman and you can do this”. Use positive adjectives and continue to praise yourself.
Something you must do, along with eating correctly and exercising properly, is to throw that scale in the garbage! Or, I guess you could also put it in the attic for a while too. How much you weigh does not determine how healthy you are. Stepping on that scale is only going to disappoint you and bring back the negative energy. Stop wasting your time getting angry at the scale and stand up! Be that strong, positive person who is going to reach your goal of how you want to look and feel, not what the numbers say OR what your friends and family say. Your first mistake is even bringing up the “extra pounds” you’re going to gain this holiday season. Stop it! Stop saying it, that is, unless you really and truly want to gain it!
Another key to attracting positive energy around you is understanding the quality of your friendships. Are your friends REALLY your friends or do they drag you down? When you are around your friends, there should always be laughter, positivity and good feelings. If your friends do nothing but complain and focus on negativity, it is in your best interest to decide whether or not you really want them to be your friend. You can also simply communicate with them and tell them that you have to focus on positivity for your own good. This will make a huge difference in your life. This even includes your friends on Facebook and other social media outlets. Reading negative status updates and focusing on supermodel #selfies everyday fits into the same category. Politely delete them from your account. I’ve done the same.
Next, I’m going to tell you something simple that will keep the positivity in your life. Turn OFF the news, reality shows and horror movies for a while. All of these things bring the negative energy to your subconscious mind. The negativity on TV is on every channel. After viewing these channels, you might not directly think about it but your body is still sensing what was viewed. The news is especially difficult because it pertains to the area in which you live. This could pose great fear and sensitivities to those who are weak. I do not watch the news at all anymore unless it is something specific such as a person I know or an event I missed or the weather. Most likely I will look it up online though, instead of hearing about all of the deaths, murders, kidnappings, robberies, etc. You can catch the headlines on the internet as well and choose what to read. We can only control so much of what happens daily. Let’s surround ourselves with positive energy and throw our worries away!
With the holidays upon us, let’s put the Laws of Attraction into use. Let’s focus on looking forward to the presence of our in-laws, instead of dreading it. Let’s not worry about what Aunt Suzie thinks of your food or your weight or your Christmas decorations. If you’re traveling, you know what security in the airport and flying with your crazy kids will bring. Prepare for it, stay positive and enjoy it.
The Law of Attraction is present in all areas of our life. Whether you are a business man or woman, professional athlete, stay at home mom, student, etc. you need to focus on the same postive thoughts mentioned above and adjust them accordingly.
After getting used to the compliments and surrounding yourself with positivity, you will walk with your head high and your shoulders back, having all the confidence in the world. You know you’re looking sexy and it’s only going to get better. Set goals for yourself and have fun reaching them. I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!
