Summer is here and it is time to relax and enjoy the outdoors with our families and friends. Having a group of loved ones to our home for a BBQ or some wine and cheese, and sitting on great outdoor comfortable furniture, is precious. Many of you have beautiful outdoor living spaces with sofas, chairs, tables and more. Some of you are thinking of buying new furniture for these spaces, but have questions on how to go about buying unique pieces that represent your style and reflect your personality.
Besides the style and comfort, it is very important to think about the quality and longevity of this beautiful furniture. For durability, you must be knowledgeable of what type of wood to use for outdoors. Unlike the wood for indoor use, your outdoor furniture must be manufactured with special hard woods that will withstand the elements. The best woods to use for outdoors are teak, mahogany, red wood and kiroko wood if your furniture is going to be exposed to the sun light and rain. These woods, although exotic, are great for outdoor furniture style from contemporary to traditional. Most likely your furnityre will have to be custom made in order to achieve the proper sizing and to meet your discriminating taste.
On the pictures attached, we used red wood and mahogany wood. A great outdoor finish was applied for the perfect look.
